Aloha! My name is Michelle locally born and raised here in Lahaina on the island of Maui, and the co-owner of Hiraya Design Co. alongside with my husband, Pohaku. We create all things here we like to call wearable art.

Behind the name HIRAYA...

In Filipino culture, “Hiraya Manawari” is a wish of goodwill, often said to children or loved ones.

Artists, poets, and DREAMERS use “hiraya” to describe the creative journey and the emotional depth of pursuing one’s calling.

Hope: Hiraya represents the belief that something beautiful can emerge from struggle or longing.

Dreams: It’s the embodiment of one’s deepest ambitions, often nurtured quietly over time.

Aspirations: Hiraya is the moment when those dreams begin to take shape—when they bear fruit.

Our women’s resort wear is a special collaboration with talented local artists here in Hawai‘i, celebrating the spirit of aloha.

All our polymer clay jewelry and accessories are lovingly handmade by me, each piece crafted with care and intention.

The trucker hats and lei shirts are designed by Pohaku—bringing a bold, creative touch that reflects our island lifestyle.

Together, we blend art, culture, and craftsmanship into every piece we create.
